Update on events....1 month to go!!!

Took awhile for me to get back to ye there. All 3 followers ha. I know Gar Curran has been a loyal reader of this blog in New Zealand though. I think he still thinks it’s a joke and that I have some how convinced him that Clancy is doing it. Although we have recruited his brother Shane now so at least he will have eyes and ears on the day..On a side note Sean Daly reckons half of us will die on it and that he has his money on Shane Curran to come home alive. Supposedly he’s come back - a new man eating weights.

Anyway, just to keep ye all up to date. I drove that route Ballyvaughen to Kilkee and it was a disaster logistically. As well as that I had forgotten about the corkscrew hill so I have changed it to a loop route either Kilnaboy via Ballyvaughen, Fanore, the cliffs, Lahinch, Kilfornora, Kilnaboy or the same route and start at Corofin and end in Corofin. Not much in the difference about 90km which is 60 miles. So it is actually longer than the 75km of Ballyvaughen to Kilkee believe it or not.

I am in London now as I got a new job there. Bought my bike there, so it’s going to be tough to get it home. I’m actually in love with it, cycle to work every day about 10 miles a day. Dec Keane slag’s me saying that I sleep with it. Dec actually can’t do the cycle because he’s back is still not right from the accident and the Doctor advised against doing it. I still reckon he is faking it. While Mike Lynch is just refusing to even look at a bike. If ya meet him abuse him over it.

I’m doing a Charity cycle this Sunday actually for the British Heart Foundation from London to Windsor its 40 miles so it will be a good pre-season test. I will let ya know how I get on.

  2. I can't wait to see the photoshopping you're going to pull off to make it look like it actually went ahead!

  3. Dude, will you send me a card for sponsorship so I can get it going? Without the card it just looks like I'm returning to that hobo lifestyle! Did about 40km yesterday from Corofin to Kilfenora and towards Ballyvaughan (but not quite there) then back past Carran to Corofin. It's a pretty unforgiving route for a road bike but the hardest parts I've found are Rowan Hill and the hill up into Kilfenora. Other than that the bumps will break your balls all day long! Gimma a shout if you're back before the cycle and we can rehearse the whole route if you're up for it. If you have it done up on Google maps or anything can you send it on as well so I can put a rough time on it. Cheers

  4. I am back this weekend actually, send on your number by facebook email. Ya its a tough route alrite plus the wind along by the coast. I did 40 miles at the weekend but the roads here are quite flat. I found a killer hill and went up it twice tonight its 10 miles from the house so not a bad work out for a wednesday!!
